Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

CCNP Enterprise blueprints and exam policies folder

Cisco publishes an exam topics blueprint for the core exam and for each concentration exam, and it revises them, sometimes renaming or retiring a concentration altogether. Saving the current blueprints, the certification requirements and the exam policies with the date you checked them means every course, book and lab is judged against the source rather than a forum thread written for an older version.

First tasks

  • Download the current ENCOR exam topics blueprint from the Cisco certification site
  • Save the blueprint for every concentration exam currently listed for CCNP Enterprise
  • Read the exam policies page and note retake waiting periods and ID rules
  • Write down the current fee, duration and validity period with today's date

Choosing your CCNP Enterprise concentration exam

The concentration decides what your CCNP says about you: advanced routing and troubleshooting suits most campus and WAN engineers, while design, wireless, SD-WAN or automation suit narrower roles. Choosing on the basis of the work you do now and the job you want next, rather than whichever exam a friend found easiest, makes the second half of the certification feed straight into your career.

First tasks

  • List each concentration exam with a one-line summary of its blueprint
  • Score each one against your current job, target role and available lab kit
  • Ask your manager or a senior engineer which concentration your team values most
  • Write the chosen concentration and your reasons at the top of the study plan

CCNA to ENCOR gap audit

ENCOR assumes everything in CCNA and then goes wider and deeper: BGP, multicast, QoS, SD-Access, SD-WAN, wireless architecture and automation all appear. Rating yourself against every blueprint line, with one quick lab or recall check for each, shows where the hours should go and stops you spending weeks on OSPF basics you already know while BGP path selection stays a mystery.

First tasks

  • Copy every ENCOR blueprint line into a skills grid grouped by domain
  • Rate each line after a short recall or lab check
  • Flag the topics you have never configured on any device
  • Mark the eight lowest-rated lines as your first study targets

Make it yours.

Install CCNP Enterprise Certification, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
