Where does Aurum Life keep my notes?
On your computer, as plain files in a folder you can open and move. Nothing from that folder is uploaded until you sign in and turn on sync or backups. Backups are stored privately, but the app does not encrypt them before they upload.
Can the AI run offline?
Yes. Choose Local in Settings → AI and the assistant runs on your computer. The default is Aurum's cloud AI, which sends your messages and relevant passages from your notes to our servers and on to Google's Gemini models. Voice, dictation, and web search always use the cloud.
What does the free plan include?
The whole desktop app, offline, with unlimited notes, building from your notes folder, the Daily Briefing, Weekly Review and audits on local AI, and every workspace you're invited to. Local AI needs about 10 GB of memory to spare; below that, use Aurum's cloud with a free sign-in, which includes a starter cloud-AI allowance every month. Pro adds encrypted sync across your devices, connectors and the web clipper, the full assistant (audits, research, triage), the Daily Briefing and Weekly Review on cloud AI and on a schedule, and Voice Mode.
What does it cost?

Can my team use this together?
Yes. A shared workspace gives your team roles, live co-editing, and an alignment view, next to everyone's private notes. Team workspaces are priced per seat, with everything in Pro for every seat. Email support@aurumtechnologyltd.com for a team plan.

Which apps can Aurum connect to?
Your notes folder (Obsidian or Markdown), Google Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Meet, Classroom, Notion, Slack, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, iCloud Calendar, and web pages through the Save to Aurum clipper. GitHub, Jira, Linear, Zapier and more connect over MCP, and so can any MCP server.
Does the app send anything home?
Not your notes, unless you use cloud AI or sync. Crash reports and an install count are sent only if you agree when setup asks, from v0.1.51 (in v0.1.48 to v0.1.50 they were on by default), and Settings → Privacy turns each off. The Privacy Policy's Diagnostics section has the details.
How do I install on Windows?
Run the installer. Windows may say it protected your PC, because the installer is not yet code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway. Every update's signature is verified before it installs.
How do I install on macOS?
Download the Apple Silicon build, open the .dmg, and drag Aurum Life to Applications. If macOS flags it on first open, right-click the app and choose Open.
My invite link did nothing.
Invite links are single-use and expire after a few days. Open it in your default browser on the device where you'll set your password. If it still stalls, email support@aurumtechnologyltd.com and we'll send a new one.
How do I change my email?
In the desktop app: Settings → Cloud → Change email. Open the confirmation links sent to both your old and new address.
