Save to Aurum Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Save to Aurum browser extension (the "extension"), published by Aurum Technology Limited (England & Wales, company no. 17127517). It explains exactly what the extension accesses and where that data goes. For how the Aurum Life desktop app handles data after a clip reaches it, see the Aurum Life Privacy Policy.

The short version

The extension only acts when you click "Save this page." It does not run in the background or track your browsing.
On that click it reads the current tab's URL, title, and readable text (or your selection).
It sends that clip only to the Aurum Life desktop app on your own device, over a local loopback connection (127.0.0.1).
It sends nothing to Aurum's servers or any third party, and contains no analytics, tracking, ads, or cookies.

What the extension collects, and only when

Page content you choose to clip: the URL, title, and readable text of the active tab, captured only at the moment you click Save, so it can be delivered to your local Aurum Life app.
A pairing token: a random token you copy from the Aurum Life app and paste into the extension's options. It is stored in your browser's local extension storage and is used solely to authenticate the extension to your local app. It is never transmitted anywhere except to that local app.

Where your data goes

Clipped content is delivered exclusively to the Aurum Life desktop application on the same computer, over a loopback (localhost) connection that never leaves your machine. The extension itself contacts no remote server. Once a clip reaches the Aurum Life app, how it is stored and processed (including whether any AI structuring runs locally or through an AI provider you have configured) is governed by the Aurum Life Privacy Policy, not by this extension.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The extension transfers data only to your local Aurum Life app at your explicit request, for no other purpose, and never to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Permissions

activeTab & scripting: to read the current page's text, only on your click.
storage: to remember your pairing token on your device.
Local host (127.0.0.1:53683): to send the clip to the Aurum Life app running locally on your machine.

Data retention

The extension retains nothing beyond the pairing token, which stays in your browser's local storage until you clear it or remove the extension. It does not keep copies of clipped pages.
