Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Choosing the teams and athletes you follow closely

Caribbean sport is wide: a Jamaican sprinter, a St Lucian hurdler, the Reggae Boyz, the Calypso Spirit netballers and a cousin's club side back home can all be competing in the same month. Picking a core list of three to five teams and about ten athletes keeps the calendar manageable, and means you actually see the races and matches you care about instead of catching the highlights two days late.

First tasks

  • Write down the national teams you already cheer for, sport by sport
  • Add ten athletes to the list, each with their event and country
  • Pick one junior or local club back home to follow as well
  • Review the core list of teams and athletes before the new season @recurring(yearly)

Yearly championship calendar for Caribbean sport

Major championships run on different cycles: the Olympics every four years, the World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games on their own rhythms, CARIFTA and Jamaica's Boys and Girls Champs each spring, Penn Relays in late April, football's Gold Cup and Nations League windows, and the Netball World Cup.

First tasks

  • List the championships your teams and athletes are likely to enter this year
  • Add each championship to a shared calendar with its dates
  • Convert published session times into your own time zone
  • Check organiser and federation sites for new dates and timetables @recurring(quarterly)

Legal ways to watch Caribbean sport where you live

Broadcast rights change from country to country, so the channel showing a World Cup qualifier in Kingston may not show it in Toronto, and the Diamond League in London may sit behind a different subscription in New York.

First tasks

  • Check which broadcaster holds the athletics rights in your country
  • Find who shows your national football team's qualifiers and friendlies
  • Look up official netball coverage, including any federation streams
  • Note radio stations back home that stream live commentary
  • Decide which services to pay for this year and cancel the rest

Make it yours.

Install Caribbean Athletics and Sport Following, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
