Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Timed case maths baseline test

Before practising anything, find out where you actually lose time: multiplication with zeros, division by awkward numbers, percentage changes or keeping track of units. A twenty-question timed test, taken once without a calculator and marked honestly, turns vague worry into a list of the three skills to fix first.

First tasks

  • Ask the agent to draft twenty mixed case maths questions with answers kept separate
  • Take the test with a stopwatch, paper and no calculator
  • Mark it and record seconds per question by type
  • Write down your three slowest question types and a target time

Interview maths rules by firm and round

Firms differ on whether you may use a calculator, how much paper you get and whether the maths comes in a live case, a written case or a numerical test. Knowing the rules for each firm on your list stops you practising the wrong way, for example on a phone calculator when the round you face is paper only.

First tasks

  • List your target firms and the rounds each one runs
  • Read each firm's careers page for calculator and test rules
  • Ask one candidate from this year's cycle how the maths was set
  • Note the strictest conditions and practise under them from now on

Multiplication tables to 25 and squares to 30

Most case arithmetic collapses into a handful of products: 12 times 15, 18 times 25, 24 squared. Knowing tables to 25 and squares to 30 by heart removes the slowest step from almost every calculation and frees attention for the logic, which is what the interviewer is actually scoring.

First tasks

  • Write out the 11 to 25 tables once by hand on a single sheet
  • Make flashcards for the products you hesitate on
  • Learn squares from 11 to 30 in blocks of five
  • Time yourself on fifty random products and log the result

Make it yours.

Install Case Maths and Market Sizing, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
