Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CAPE Biology syllabus and paper format check

CAPE Biology is examined unit by unit, each with a multiple-choice Paper 01, a written Paper 02 of structured and essay questions, and either the school-based internal assessment as Paper 031 or the written alternative Paper 032 for private candidates.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • Write the syllabus edition year on the front of your Biology folder
  • List the six modules and their specific objectives on one page
  • Ask your teacher which unit the school enters you for this year and in which sitting

CSEC to CAPE Biology gap check

Students arriving from CSEC usually know the vocabulary but not the depth: CAPE asks why water potential falls, not just that osmosis happens. A one-hour diagnostic on CSEC ideas that CAPE builds on, such as cell structure, enzymes, inheritance and transport, shows which foundations to repair in the first month instead of discovering them in the mock.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for a bridging test or a recent CSEC Biology paper
  • Sit the paper in one timed session without notes
  • Mark it against the mark scheme and record the score
  • Match each weak topic to the CAPE module that builds on it
  • Spend two weeks repairing the three weakest topics

Two-year CAPE Biology study plan for Units 1 and 2

Two units, six modules and a year of practical work do not fit into the last term, and most schools teach one unit per year. A plan that places each module against the school calendar, with holidays, mock weeks and internal assessment deadlines marked, shows early when the class is falling behind and where your own revision has to cover the gap.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for the scheme of work for both units
  • Place each module on a term-by-term calendar
  • Mark mocks, lab deadlines and the sitting on the calendar
  • Check the plan against where your class actually is @recurring(monthly:3)

Make it yours.

Install CAPE Biology, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
