Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CAPE Management of Business syllabus and paper check

CAPE Management of Business is examined as two separate units with three modules each: Unit 1 covers business and its environment, the management of people, and business finance and accounting, while Unit 2 covers production and operations management, fundamentals of marketing, and small business management.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • Write the syllabus edition year inside the cover of your folder
  • List the specific objectives of all six modules in syllabus order
  • Ask your teacher which unit you sit this year and the school's IA deadlines
  • Recheck the syllabus edition at the start of each school year @recurring(yearly)

Diagnostic Management of Business past paper and baseline

Before revising anything, sit one recent Paper 01 and two Paper 02 questions under rough time limits, then mark them honestly with the mark scheme. The scores show whether your problem is knowledge, calculation or essay technique, and they give you a baseline to measure every later paper against.

First tasks

  • Get a recent Paper 01 and Paper 02 with mark schemes from your teacher or the CXC store
  • Sit Paper 01 in one go without notes
  • Answer one theory and one calculation question from Paper 02
  • Sort every lost mark into knowledge, calculation, application or structure
  • Record your baseline scores and the three weakest objectives

Two-unit study plan across six modules

Many schools teach Unit 1 in lower sixth and Unit 2 in upper sixth, and each year goes faster than it looks once IA work, mock exams and other subjects compete for the same evenings. A plan that maps every module to weeks, with IA milestones and buffer weeks already marked, stops the last module being crammed in the final month.

First tasks

  • Get your teacher's scheme of work for the current unit
  • Map each module and its objectives to calendar weeks
  • Mark IA milestones, mocks and holidays on the same plan
  • Leave two empty buffer weeks before the mock and the final revision
  • Re-plan the coming month's topics against what was actually covered @recurring(monthly:28)

Make it yours.

Install CAPE Management of Business, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
