Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CSEC Biology syllabus and paper format check

Biology at CSEC is examined through a multiple-choice Paper 01, a written Paper 02, and either the school-based assessment as Paper 031 or the alternative Paper 032 for private candidates, and the details shift between syllabus editions. An hour with the current syllabus and the CXC timetable means every later project is aimed at the exam you will actually sit, not the one an older cousin sat.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • Write the syllabus edition year on the front of your Biology folder
  • List the syllabus sections and their topics on one page
  • Ask your Biology teacher which sitting and paper options the school enters you for

Diagnostic Paper 01 to find your starting point

A single multiple-choice paper, sat early and without notes, shows which parts of the syllabus you half know already and which are blank. Sorting the wrong answers by topic turns a vague worry about Biology into a short list of weak areas to start on first.

First tasks

  • Get one past or specimen Paper 01 from your teacher or the CXC store
  • Sit the paper in one go without notes or a phone
  • Mark it and tally the wrong answers by topic
  • Circle the three topics with the most errors

Two-year CSEC Biology study plan

Most schools teach CSEC Biology across Forms Four and Five, with SBA labs running alongside and the exam in May or June of the second year. A written plan that puts each syllabus topic in a month, with SBA deadlines and revision blocks marked, prevents the common pile-up where genetics and reproduction are still untaught in March.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for the class scheme of work for both years
  • Place each syllabus topic in the month it will be taught
  • Mark the SBA deadlines and mock exam dates on the plan
  • Compare your progress against the plan @recurring(monthly:26)

Make it yours.

Install CSEC Biology, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
