Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CSEC Economics syllabus and paper format check

CSEC Economics is examined through a multiple-choice Paper 01, a written Paper 02 with structured and data questions, and either the school-based assessment as Paper 031 or an alternative paper for private candidates, but the details change between syllabus editions.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • List the syllabus sections and their objectives on one page
  • Ask your Economics teacher which sitting and paper options the school enters you for
  • Recheck the CXC Economics syllabus page for amendments @recurring(yearly)

Diagnostic Economics past paper to find your starting point

Most students start CSEC Economics knowing more than they think from shopping, family businesses and the news, but with gaps in diagrams, definitions and calculations. Sitting one past Paper 01 early, untimed, and sorting every wrong answer by syllabus section shows where to spend the first term instead of guessing.

First tasks

  • Get one past or specimen Paper 01 from your teacher or the CXC store
  • Sit the paper without notes and mark it with the answer key
  • Tag each wrong answer with its syllabus section
  • Rate every section from one to five in a skills matrix

Two-year CSEC Economics study plan

Economics is usually taught over fourth and fifth form, and the SBA, the mock and the final revision all crowd into the second year. Laying the syllabus sections across the school terms, with the SBA milestones and mock marked, shows from the start whether the pace leaves time for revision or needs extra hours.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for the scheme of work showing which sections come each term
  • Place each syllabus section in a term on a single page plan
  • Mark the SBA deadlines and mock week on the plan
  • Compare progress with the plan and move any slipped section @recurring(monthly:1)

Make it yours.

Install CSEC Economics, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
