Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CSEC French syllabus and paper format check

CXC revises its Modern Languages syllabus from time to time, and a revision guide handed down from an older cousin may describe papers you will never sit. An hour with the current syllabus and the CXC timetable tells you what Paper 01, Paper 02 and the oral each test, whether a School-Based Assessment applies, and when your sitting falls, so every hour of practice after it rehearses the real exam.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the French paper format
  • List each paper and the oral on one page with what it tests
  • Ask your teacher when the oral examination is usually held
  • Get the one-page summary checked by your French teacher

Diagnostic French paper and starting profile

Before you decide where the year's hours go, find out which of the four skills is costing you marks. A recent past paper written under exam conditions, plus a five-minute recorded conversation, shows whether the weak point is catching numbers in the listening, understanding a passage, writing accurate sentences or simply freezing when spoken to.

First tasks

  • Choose a recent past paper that matches the current format
  • Write the paper in one quiet sitting with the audio played through once
  • Record a five-minute conversation about your family and school
  • Mark the paper with the scheme or hand it to your teacher
  • Write your starting score and three weakest skills in the error log

French study timetable to the exam sitting

A language is built in small, frequent sessions, not in a fortnight of cramming, so the timetable matters more in French than in most subjects. Working back from the oral date and the written papers, a week-by-week plan spreads grammar, vocabulary themes and paper practice across the months left, with protected time for the listening and speaking that students usually skip.

First tasks

  • Count the weeks left until the oral and the written papers
  • Ask the agent to draft a week-by-week French plan from your syllabus list
  • Block in daily vocabulary slots and longer weekend sessions
  • Review the timetable against what you actually covered @recurring(monthly:2)

Make it yours.

Install CSEC French, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
