Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CSEC Geography syllabus and paper format check

CSEC Geography is examined through a multiple-choice Paper 01, a written Paper 02 that includes mapwork on a topographic extract, and either the school-based assessment as Paper 031 or the alternative Paper 032 for private candidates, but the details shift between syllabus editions.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • List the syllabus sections and their specific objectives on one page
  • Mark every objective that asks for a Caribbean or named case study
  • Recheck the CXC Geography syllabus page for amendments @recurring(yearly)

Diagnostic Geography past paper to find your starting point

Students arrive at CSEC Geography with uneven strengths: some read maps easily but cannot explain how a hurricane forms, others know their island's farming well but freeze at a six-figure grid reference. Attempting one past Paper 01 and one mapwork question early, untimed, and sorting every lost mark by syllabus topic shows where the first term should go.

First tasks

  • Get one past Paper 01 and one mapwork question from your teacher
  • Attempt both without notes and mark them with the answer key
  • Tag each lost mark with its syllabus topic
  • Rate every topic from one to five in a skills matrix

Two-year CSEC Geography study plan

Geography is usually taught over fourth and fifth form, and the field study, the mock and final revision all compete for the same months of the second year. Laying the syllabus topics across the terms, with the fieldwork day placed outside the heaviest rainy weeks, shows early whether the pace leaves room for revision or needs extra hours.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for the scheme of work showing the topics for each term
  • Place every syllabus topic in a term on a one-page plan
  • Mark the SBA fieldwork window, the mock and the revision weeks
  • Compare progress with the plan and move any slipped topic @recurring(monthly:3)

Make it yours.

Install CSEC Geography, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
