Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Current CSEC PE and Sport syllabus and assessment format check

CSEC Physical Education and Sport is examined through written papers (a multiple-choice Paper 01 and a written Paper 02) and a school-based assessment, Paper 031, that carries your practical performance, but the activity lists, the written SBA requirements and the paper details change between syllabus editions.

First tasks

  • Check the current syllabus and timetable on the CXC website and note the paper format
  • List the syllabus sections and their specific objectives on one page
  • Copy the practical activity categories and what the SBA requires
  • Recheck the CXC PE and Sport syllabus page for amendments @recurring(yearly)

Diagnostic PE theory paper to find weak topics

Good athletes often assume PE theory will be easy, then lose marks naming the muscles in a squat or explaining why heart rate rises before a race. Attempting one past or specimen Paper 01 and a few Paper 02 questions early, without notes, and tagging every lost mark by syllabus topic shows where the first term of study should go.

First tasks

  • Ask your teacher for one past Paper 01 and three Paper 02 questions
  • Attempt them without notes in a quiet room
  • Mark the answers and tag each lost mark with its syllabus topic
  • Rate every topic from one to five in a skills matrix

Choosing your practical activities for assessment

The practical part of the SBA is assessed in activities chosen from the categories the syllabus lists, and the choice shapes two years of training. A footballer who picks only invasion games may struggle if the syllabus asks for activities from more than one category, so weigh your strengths, your school's facilities and coaching, and when each activity's season falls before your teacher fixes the list.

First tasks

  • List the activities your school can assess against the syllabus categories
  • Score each option for skill, facilities, coaching and season timing
  • Discuss the shortlist with your PE teacher
  • Write the agreed activities and their assessment windows in your plan

Make it yours.

Install CSEC Physical Education and Sport, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
