Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Mapping the passes your goal actually requires

Most adults do not sit CSEC for its own sake: the reason is a job advert, a promotion rule, a nursing or police entry requirement, or a university matriculation standard. Writing down exactly which subjects and grades that goal demands, taken from the employer or institution itself, stops you spending a year on a subject nobody asked for.

First tasks

  • Write one sentence naming the job, course or promotion these exams are for
  • Find the entry requirements on the employer's or institution's own website
  • Email the admissions or HR office to confirm the subjects and grades they accept
  • Find your existing certificates or results slips and list the passes you hold
  • Write the final list of subjects still to sit

Finding your Local Registrar and private candidate rules

Every territory registers private candidates through its own Local Registrar, usually based in the Ministry of Education or a national examinations office, and the rules on eligibility, documents and closing dates are set locally. One phone call or visit early in the year tells you where to register, what proof they want and when entries close, which is the fact most late registrants wish they had found sooner.

First tasks

  • Look up your country's Local Registrar on the CXC website
  • Call or email the registrar to ask when private candidate entries open and close
  • Ask which documents, photographs and payment methods they accept
  • Save the registrar's answers with the date and the name of who you spoke to

Weekly study hours audit around work and family

Shift rosters, school runs, church, overtime and caring duties all eat into the evenings an adult candidate thought were free. Logging one ordinary week hour by hour shows the real gaps, usually smaller and more scattered than hoped, and gives every later timetable something solid to stand on.

First tasks

  • Log how you spend each half hour for seven ordinary days
  • Mark every gap of thirty minutes or more that could hold study
  • Total the usable hours and knock off a fifth for bad weeks
  • Talk the total through with anyone whose routine it affects

Make it yours.

Install CSEC as a Private or Adult Candidate, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
