Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Exemption check against your existing qualifications

Students arriving with an accounting degree, a bookkeeping diploma or a related professional paper can often be exempted from one or more of BT, MA and FA. Running every qualification through ACCA's exemption checker before you book anything tells you exactly which papers remain, and stops you paying exam fees for a paper you never needed to sit.

First tasks

  • Gather transcripts for every degree, diploma or professional exam you hold
  • Run each qualification through ACCA's exemption checker and save the result
  • Write down which of BT, MA and FA you still have to sit
  • Note the exemption fee for each paper you are able to claim

ACCA student registration and account set-up

Nothing can be booked until ACCA has accepted your registration, checked your entry documents and opened your online account, and the document checks can take longer than students expect. Registering early, with your ID and certificates already scanned, means the first exam date you choose is the one you actually get.

First tasks

  • Read ACCA's entry requirements and confirm which route your qualifications meet
  • Scan your passport or national ID and your certificates into one folder
  • Submit the online registration and pay the initial fee
  • Record your ACCA student number in your study folder
  • Check your account shows every exemption you claimed

Applied Knowledge syllabus and study guide pack

ACCA publishes a syllabus and study guide for each exam year, listing every learning outcome BT, MA and FA can test, with the exam format described on each exam's page. One folder holding the current versions for all three, with the format of each exam noted in your own words, becomes the checklist every later topic project ticks against.

First tasks

  • Download the current syllabus and study guide for BT, MA and FA
  • Note the format, length and pass mark of each exam from ACCA's website
  • Turn each study guide into a checklist of learning outcomes
  • Check for a new syllabus when ACCA publishes the next exam year @recurring(yearly)

Make it yours.

Install ACCA Applied Knowledge Exams, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
