Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Confirming PM is your next ACCA paper

Before buying a single textbook, check that you actually need to sit Performance Management. Accredited degrees and some professional qualifications carry an exemption from PM, and ACCA's progression rules decide when an Applied Skills exam can be booked. Ten minutes in the exemptions calculator and your MyACCA record can save a full exam fee and months of study.

First tasks

  • Log in to MyACCA and check your exam status for Performance Management
  • Run each of your qualifications through ACCA's exemptions calculator
  • Read ACCA's current rules on which exams must come before PM
  • Write down your decision to sit PM or claim the exemption, with the date

Current PM syllabus, study guide and exam format pack

ACCA publishes a syllabus and study guide for each exam year, and the summaries passed around on forums often describe an older version. Saving the current documents, the specimen exam and a one-page note of the exam structure, with the date you checked, gives every later project an official reference. The study guide's detailed learning outcomes then become your topic checklist.

First tasks

  • Download the PM syllabus and study guide for your exam session
  • Save the current specimen exam and its answers in a study folder
  • Write a one-page note of the current exam format with the date checked
  • Turn the study guide learning outcomes into a topic checklist
  • Recheck ACCA's PM page for syllabus updates before each session @recurring(quarterly)

Choosing your PM exam session and entry deadline

Most candidates need several months for PM, and more if Management Accounting feels distant. PM is sat in ACCA's fixed exam sessions rather than on demand, and the entry fee rises as the deadline approaches. Picking the session from the study hours you can really give each week, then entering in the early window, fixes the date the whole plan counts back from.

First tasks

  • Estimate the study hours you can give each week for the next six months
  • Compare the next three PM sessions against those hours
  • Write the chosen session's entry deadlines in your calendar
  • Set aside the exam entry fee before the early deadline
  • Enter PM in MyACCA and save the confirmation

Make it yours.

Install ACCA Performance Management (PM), then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
