Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Choosing your tax and law exam variants

ACCA sets Taxation in a number of country variants, each examining one country's tax rules, and Corporate and Business Law has a global English law version alongside several national ones. Picking the variants that match the work you do or plan to do, and checking they are offered where you will sit, decides every textbook and question bank you buy afterwards.

First tasks

  • Download ACCA's current list of Taxation and Corporate and Business Law variants
  • Mark which variants are offered at test centres in your country
  • Ask your employer or tutor which tax variant matches the work you will do
  • Record your chosen TX and LW variants and why you picked each

Checking degree exemptions for TX and LW

Some accounting and law degrees carry an ACCA exemption from Corporate and Business Law, and some accredited accounting degrees also exempt Taxation. Running your transcript through ACCA's exemption search before you book can save an exam fee and months of study, and knowing that an exemption usually carries its own fee lets you compare the cost honestly.

First tasks

  • Gather transcripts and module outlines for every qualification you hold
  • Run each qualification through ACCA's exemption search
  • Compare the exemption fee with the exam fee and the study time saved
  • Claim any exemption you decide to take and check it appears in your account

Current TX and LW syllabus and study guide pack

The syllabus and study guide for each paper list every learning outcome that can be examined, and for Taxation the examinable documents name the tax year and legislation each sitting uses. Saving the current versions together, and noting the exam format from ACCA's own pages, gives you one reliable source to check every textbook, lecture and question bank against.

First tasks

  • Check the current TX and LW exam format and fees on ACCA's website and note the date
  • Download the syllabus and study guide for both of your chosen variants
  • Save the TX examinable documents that apply to your planned sitting
  • List each study guide section as a heading in your notes

Make it yours.

Install ACCA Taxation and Corporate Law (TX, LW), then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
