Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

ACAMS rules and CAMS content outline check

ACAMS updates the CAMS exam, its content outline and its candidate policies from time to time, and prep notes passed around the office can describe an older version. Before paying for anything, read the current CAMS pages and candidate handbook on the ACAMS website and write down what applies to your sitting: the content domains, the question format, the exam length, the fees and the identification rules.

First tasks

  • Download the current CAMS candidate handbook from the ACAMS website
  • Copy the content outline domains into a single page of notes
  • Write down the exam format, length and fees exactly as ACAMS states them
  • Recheck the ACAMS CAMS pages for outline or policy changes @recurring(quarterly)

CAMS eligibility credits worksheet

Eligibility works by adding up credits from education, years of anti-financial crime work and other professional certifications, and the application asks for evidence. Working out your total on paper now shows whether you qualify today, which documents you need, and whether a short course or another month of experience would close a gap.

First tasks

  • Copy the eligibility credit table from the handbook into a worksheet
  • List each qualification and anti-financial crime role with its credits
  • Ask HR for a letter confirming your job titles and dates of service
  • Scan transcripts and certificates into one eligibility folder

ACAMS membership and CAMS exam package choice

ACAMS usually sells CAMS as a package with membership, the study guide, online preparation and the exam registration, and the options differ in price and in how long the registration stays valid. Some employers hold enterprise memberships that cut the cost. Comparing the options side by side before paying stops you buying a package that expires before you are ready.

First tasks

  • List the current CAMS packages with price, contents and validity period
  • Ask your compliance head whether the bank has an ACAMS group membership
  • Compare each package's expiry date with your planned exam month
  • Record the package bought, its cost and its registration expiry date

Make it yours.

Install CAMS Anti-Money Laundering Exam, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
