Certifying body and route check
The CFP marks are awarded by CFP Board in the United States and by member organisations of the Financial Planning Standards Board in other countries, and each sets its own education, examination, experience and ethics rules. Confirming which body covers the country where you will practise, before paying for any course, stops you studying for a route that will not certify you there.
First tasks
- Find the certifying body for the country where you plan to practise
- Check the current exam format, fees and windows on the body's own website
- Write the four requirements on one page with today's date
- Record which body you will certify through and why
