Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Strategic level syllabus and exam rules check

Before any study plan, you need CIMA's current word on what the Strategic level contains and how it is examined, because syllabus updates, fees and booking rules change and second-hand summaries go stale. One hour on the official syllabus and exam pages gives you the learning outcomes for E3, P3 and F3, the objective test and case study formats, and anything announced about the next syllabus change.

First tasks

  • Download the current Strategic level syllabus from the CIMA website
  • Note the objective test format, booking route and retake rules on one page
  • Copy the next four Strategic case study windows into your calendar
  • Check CIMA's site for any announced syllabus change or transition rules
  • Recheck CIMA's Strategic level rules and fees pages for changes @recurring(quarterly)

Strategic level eligibility and CIMA account check

Booking fails at the worst moment when an exemption has not been applied, a Management level result has not reached your record or the annual subscription has lapsed. Logging in and checking your CIMA account against the progression rules confirms which Strategic exams you can book today and which you cannot yet.

First tasks

  • Log in to your CIMA account and save a copy of your exam record
  • Compare the record with CIMA's progression rules for the Strategic level
  • Raise any missing result or exemption with CIMA and keep the reference
  • Pay the annual CIMA subscription before its renewal date @recurring(yearly)

Study budget for fees, tuition and membership

Finishing CIMA costs more than three exam fees: there is the case study fee, tuition and question banks, the annual subscription, a possible retake and, at the end, membership. Pricing the whole route once, and knowing what your employer will cover, stops a surprise bill from pushing a sitting back by a whole window.

First tasks

  • List every Strategic level fee from CIMA's current fee pages
  • Add tuition, question bank and mock costs from your chosen provider
  • Ask your employer in writing which costs they will fund
  • Set each payment against a pay date in your calendar

Make it yours.

Install CIMA Strategic Level, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
