Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Superday invitation details confirmed in writing

Superday invitations often arrive as a phone call or a short email that leaves out the things you most need to know: how many rounds, who is interviewing, whether there is a case or modelling exercise, and when it all finishes. A short, polite reply to the recruiter that asks for those details in one go turns a vague date into a plan you can build around, and shows you are organised before anyone has met you.

First tasks

  • Reply to the invitation within a day accepting the date you were offered
  • Ask the recruiter for the round format, finish time and any case exercise
  • Ask whether interviewer names or groups can be shared in advance
  • Save every confirmed detail in one superday note with the recruiter's contact

Round-by-round format map for your superday

Final rounds differ more than candidates expect: one bank runs four thirty-minute interviews back to back, another adds a timed case and a group exercise, a third ends with lunch with junior bankers who also send feedback. Mapping each round to what it is really testing lets you split preparation time sensibly instead of drilling technicals for a day that is mostly fit and judgement.

First tasks

  • List the rounds the recruiter confirmed in the order they run
  • Message two alumni or past interns who sat this bank's final round
  • Label each round with the skill it mainly tests
  • Split your remaining prep hours across the rounds by weight

Countdown plan from invitation to superday

Most candidates get between a few days and three weeks between the invitation and the day itself, and that time disappears into unstructured worry if it is not planned. A day-by-day countdown that puts the bank brief and story first, mocks in the middle and rest at the end means the last evening is for sleep, not for cramming LBO maths.

First tasks

  • Count the days left and write one prep goal against each
  • Book three mock interview slots with friends, mentors or the careers service
  • Block the evening before the superday for logistics and rest only
  • Move or warn about any lecture, shift or commitment that clashes

Make it yours.

Install Superday Preparation, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
