Where it starts.

Each project arrives with its purpose, milestones and first tasks written out. Here is how the first three read.

Choosing which sustainable investing certificate to take

Several credentials compete for the same CV line: CFA Institute's sustainable investing certificate (formerly the Certificate in ESG Investing), its Climate Risk, Valuation and Investing certificate, GARP's Sustainability and Climate Risk certificate, and courses from bodies such as the PRI Academy or national institutes.

First tasks

  • List the sustainable investing credentials offered by CFA Institute, GARP and one other body
  • Score each credential on relevance, recognition, cost, study time and format
  • Ask two people in your target role which credential they value
  • Write down the credential you chose and why

Current syllabus and exam rules check

Sustainable finance rules change every year, and the awarding bodies revise their syllabuses to match, so a second-hand summary from two years ago may describe topics that have been dropped or regulations that have been replaced. Reading the official syllabus, candidate guide and testing policies first, and writing down what you found with the date, points every later study hour at the right target.

First tasks

  • Download the current syllabus and candidate guide from the awarding body's website
  • Copy the exam format, pass rules and retake policy into a dated note
  • Record the current fee and registration deadline
  • Recheck the syllabus page and candidate guide for changes @recurring(quarterly)

Registering and booking your exam window

Most sustainable investing certificates are computer-based tests booked through a test centre network or a remote proctoring service, and popular dates go early. Registering, paying and holding a seat turns a vague intention into a fixed date that the rest of the plan counts back from.

First tasks

  • Create your candidate account with your name exactly as on your ID
  • Pay the registration fee and save the receipt
  • Book a test centre or remote proctoring slot
  • Put the exam date and reschedule deadline in your calendar

Make it yours.

Install Sustainable Investing Certificates, then tell Aurum the date you're aiming for. It checks whether the plan fits the weeks you actually have.
